York University, LL.B. (1990)

Neil Gill is a founding partner of Gill & Mulholland LLP.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Neil worked in all areas of the Canadian wholesale travel industry, where he gained a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of issues that are faced by Canadian businesses both at home and abroad. In addition, Neil understands that businesses prefer to rely upon litigation in the courts as a last resort.

Neil has been litigating, mediating, and arbitrating disputes in the Province of Ontario for over 30 years. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991 and spent the first 15 years of his legal career with a respected Toronto commercial and insurance litigation firm.

In 2005 Neil joined up with a smaller litigation group because he believed it would allow him to better serve his clients in a smaller and more collegial and hands on environment.

Neil has had an extensive and well-rounded litigation practice. He has handled all forms of disputes that small and medium size enterprises face in their day-to-day business, including disputes between shareholders, insurance issues, contractual disputes, and account collections.

Over the course of his career, Neil has counted numerous large Real Estate Brokerages as his valued clients and has been involved in all aspects of real property disputes.

As a result of his extensive involvement with realtors, and the increased enforcement activities of the Real Estate Council of Ontario (and local real estate boards), Neil has developed a practice focusing on all aspects of defending registered real estate agents, brokers, and brokerages in Ontario when they become embroiled in governance and complaint procedures. RECO disciplinary defence work is now one of the mainstays of Neil’s practice.

Neil has a full understanding of how stressful, confusing, and overwhelming the disciplinary processes can be and understands that the majority of registrants are honest, hardworking people that would prefer to be focused on pursuing their livelihood.

Neil brings a very practical and client-based approach to all matters he is involved in, with a goal, if possible, of obtaining early and cost-effective resolutions for all his clients.
